Sandy’s a mom of three, with a big age gap between each child—Casper is 26, Casey is 14, and Corvin is 11. She had Casper when she was just 21, and looking back, she admits she had no idea what she was doing. She was young, overwhelmed, and just trying to figure things out.

She also went through a miscarriage, which made her hesitant to try again. But eventually, Casey and Corvin came into the picture. She found herself parenting a teenager and a newborn at the same time—juggling tantrums and teen drama in the same house. Casper had his rebellious moments, but they stayed close, and he was actually excited when Corvin was born.

When asked what she’d do differently, she said:

“I wish I had the wisdom—and the way of God—to raise my kids.”

Sandy didn’t grow up knowing God—she came from a Buddhist background—so for a long time, she did life without that foundation. Now that she knows God, she sees how much grace has carried her through. It’s not that things got easier, but she sees more clearly now how God’s been patient with her, just like she’s had to learn to be patient with her kids. For her, God’s grace has been the difference—not just in parenting, but in how she sees herself and her journey.
