Here: God With Us—A Christmas Gathering in Sentul

God With Us This Christmas in Sentul
When hope feels distant, discover what it means to have God close—this December.
What does “God with us” mean? It means God is not distant or theoretical. He is present, real, and actively involved in your life right now—guiding, healing, and changing what feels impossible. On 20 December, we’re gathering in Sentul to explore this truth together.
There Are Seasons When Hope Feels Impossible
You know the feeling. It’s when you’re carrying something too heavy to name. When the future looks uncertain and bleak. When you’re not even sure anyone’s paying attention.
In those moments, hope doesn’t feel like a choice. It feels like a luxury you can’t afford.
But what if hope isn’t lost? What if God hasn’t left?
This is what we’ve discovered over years of walking with people in our community: God is not somewhere else, waiting for you to get your life together. He is here now—present, real, paying attention to the thing you haven’t told anyone about.
On 20 December, we’re gathering in Sentul to explore what that really means.
What Is “Here: God With Us”?
The Event
On 20 December, we’ll meet in Sentul for a gathering unlike a typical Sunday service. We’ll sing together, listen to Pastor Foo Seng explore what it means to have God with us now, and have space to sit with that truth. We’ll share a simple meal and be part of a community, if only for a few hours.
You can come on your own or bring a friend. Come as you are—no need to have it all figured out.
Why We’re Gathering
Christmas is often about what happened 2,000 years ago: a baby born in Bethlehem, angels, shepherds, the whole story.
But there’s a deeper truth buried in that story. And it changes everything.
Jesus didn’t just come to earth 2,000 years ago and then leave. Yes, he was born, he lived, he died, and he rose again. And then he ascended to heaven. But that’s not the end of the story.
He is still with us. Right now.
In Revelation 21, God makes a stunning announcement. He says he is in the business of “making everything new.” And the heart of that renewal is this: God will be “with” his people. Not distant. Not theoretical. With them.
That’s not just theology. That’s a promise about your life today.
God is with you in the quiet mornings before work. He’s there in the middle of a decision that terrifies you. He’s present in the pain you haven’t told anyone about. He is real. He is paying attention. He is close enough to heal. Close enough to change everything.
That’s what Christmas is really about. That’s what we’re gathering to explore.
Who Is This For?
You, if…
- You’re carrying hopelessness, and you need to know you’re not forgotten
- You feel lost, and you’re looking for something that feels like home
- You’re confused about what Christmas means beyond the shopping and the stress
- You’ve been hurt by church before, and you’re not sure if you belong anywhere
- You’re curious about Jesus but unsure where to start
- You’re just tired, and you need to know someone sees you
If any of that resonates, this event is for you.
What Will Happen
The Day Itself
We’ll gather on 20 December at 5 PM in Sentul. There’s no complicated process—just come. We’ll have space for singing, listening, and reflection. You’re welcome to sing, to sit quietly, to stand in the back—whatever feels right to you.
We’ll share some refreshments and time together afterwards. No one’s going to corner you and ambush you with questions. We’re simply people gathering because we believe God is with us, and we want to experience that together.
What Pastor Foo Seng Will Explore
Pastor Foo Seng will walk us through Revelation 21:3–5—one of the most beautiful passages in Scripture about God’s presence. He’ll unpack what it means that God makes everything new, and what that has to do with your life right now.
The focus won’t be on theology for its own sake. It will be practical: How does God’s presence show up in daily life? How does he guide us? How does he heal the broken places? How does he bring clarity when we’re confused? Purpose when we feel empty?
It’s the kind of conversation that leaves room for your own questions. We’re not here to give easy answers. We’re here to sit together in the real stuff.
Common Questions
Do I have to be a Christian to come?
No. This gathering is for anyone who’s curious about what Christmas really means, and what it’s like to have God close. Come as you are. Bring your questions. We welcome them.
What’s the address, and how do I park?
We’re in Sentul, KL. You can find our address and directions here. You can also reach out if you need further info—we’re happy to help.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. In fact, we’d love that. This event is designed for friends to experience together. If your friend is carrying hopelessness or searching for hope, that’s exactly who we’re gathering for.
What if I have doubts or questions about faith?
Good. Doubts and questions aren’t problems here. They’re part of the conversation. Pastor Foo Seng will address the overarching matters. And afterwards, if you want to talk more, we’re around.
Is there childcare or programming for kids?
Not on this day. This gathering is designed for young adults and older teens who want to explore faith on their own.
Will there be food provided?
Dinner will be served at the end of the event, and it’s on the house. So come hungry!
Why NCC, Why Sentul
New Covenant Community has been rooted in Sentul for over two decades. We’re not a megachurch or a polished institution. We’re a real community of people learning what it means to live like Jesus and share his love.
Over the years, we’ve seen what it looks like when God is genuinely present in people’s lives. We’ve walked with people through grief, doubt, confusion, and deep loneliness. And we’ve watched God show up—healing wounds, creating clarity, building hope where it seemed impossible.
That’s not something we reserve for Sundays or church programs. It’s what happens when ordinary people discover that God is with them, right now.
This Christmas event is an invitation to experience that presence yourself.
If you’re in Sentul or nearby and you’re carrying something heavy, we’d love to see you on 20 December.
